Your own cycle for the whole day
Every rental day up to 30 November 2026. After that the normal price is ₹350. One fixed price, even if you ride for just one hour. The ₹1,000 deposit per cycle is paid at pickup and returned when you bring the cycle back.
Pondicherry is made for cycling: quiet French Quarter streets, yellow colonial walls, the sea promenade and the morning market. Take a pink or green city bicycle with a basket from 7:30 am, ride where you like, and bring it back by 6:30 pm. The price is fixed: it is the same whether you ride for one hour or the whole day.
No guide, no schedule. Stop for coffee, take photos, follow your own route. If you would rather have a local professor show you the old town, join our sunrise tour instead.

Rental terms, in short
- Deposit: ₹1,000 per cycle, paid to our team at pickup in cash or UPI. Returned in full when you bring the cycle back in the same condition.
- Original ID: we may ask you to leave an original photo ID (for example passport or driving licence) with us until you return the cycle.
- Your responsibility: the cycle is yours to look after until you return it. Any damage, loss or theft is paid by you. We take it from the deposit first.
- Return: by 6:30 pm the same day. Need longer? Message us before.
- Ride safely: follow the traffic rules. You ride at your own risk, and a rider under 18 must be with a responsible adult.

The cycle rental is by the day. You collect your cycle from 7:30 am at Sita Cultural Center and bring it back the same day by 6:30 pm. You can take and return it at any time within those hours. The rent is one fixed price per cycle per day, the same whether you keep it for one hour or for the whole day, and no part of it is refunded for returning the cycle early. If you need it for longer, ask us on WhatsApp before.
The price is per cycle, per day, and includes GST. The price shown on the booking page when you pay is the price you pay. The launch price of ₹250 per cycle per day applies to rental days up to 30 November 2026; from 1 December 2026 the normal price of ₹350 applies.
Security deposit: ₹1,000 per cycle. You pay it to our team at pickup, in cash or by UPI only. It is not paid on the website. We give it back in full when you return the cycle on time and in the same condition.
Original ID: we may also ask you to leave an original photo ID (for example your passport or driving licence) with our team while you have the cycle. We keep it safely and give it back when you return the cycle. A copy is not enough.
The cycle is your responsibility from the moment you collect it until you return it. You are responsible for the cost of any damage, loss or theft, however it happens. We take the repair or replacement cost from your deposit first, and if the cost is higher than the deposit you pay the difference. Normal wear, such as light scratches, is not charged.
Please lock the cycle every time you leave it, and never lend it to anyone else.
You ride at your own risk. Please follow the traffic rules and ride with care. Sita is not responsible for accidents, injury, or loss of your belongings during the rental. You must be able to ride safely, and a rider under 18 must be with a responsible adult.
Every renter signs a short release of responsibility at pickup. Cancellation follows the rule in “Cancellation and refunds” below: a full refund if you cancel 48 hours or more before the rental day.

How much does it cost to rent a bicycle in Pondicherry?
At Sita it is ₹250 per cycle for a full day (7:30 am to 6:30 pm) as our launch offer for rental days up to 30 November 2026. From 1 December 2026 the normal price is ₹350 per day. Prices include GST.
What is the deposit?
A refundable security deposit of ₹1,000 per cycle. You pay it to our team at pickup, in cash or by UPI. It is not paid online. You get it all back when you return the cycle on time and in the same condition.
Do I need to leave an ID?
We may ask you to leave an original photo ID (for example your passport or driving licence) with our team while you have the cycle. We give it back when you return the cycle. Please bring one with you.
Is it cheaper if I rent for only a few hours?
No, and it costs no more either. The rent is one fixed price per cycle per day. You can take the cycle and bring it back at any time between 7:30 am and 6:30 pm, and the price is the same for 1 hour or for the full day.
What time can I pick up and return the cycle?
You choose your pick-up time when you book, any time from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, for example 2 pm if you arrive in the afternoon. Please bring the cycle back by 6:30 pm the same day. If you need it for longer, message us on WhatsApp before.
How many cycles are there?
We have 6 cycles for rent. The booking page shows how many are left on each day. Closed days are marked on the calendar.
Until when can I book?
Until 6:30 pm India time the day before you want to ride, if there are cycles left. Free cancellation up to 48 hours before.
What if the cycle is damaged or lost?
The cycle is your responsibility while you have it. We take the repair or replacement cost from your deposit first, and you pay the difference if it costs more. Light scratches from normal use are not charged.

Can I rent for more than one day?
